May 25th, the GenBUDGET CoP had its third webinar on "Gender biases and gender budgeting in research organisations during Covid-19". The webinar is part of GenBUDGETs “Sharing our struggles” webinar series, that has the aim of enhancing the knowledge of gender biases in decision making at RPOs. An important step in the CoP’s mission is to develop shared gender budgeting practices to counteract gendered financial management mechanisms. We had two interesting and insightful presentations. First, we had a presentation from Angela O’Hagan, Glasgow Caledonian University, who discussed “Focus on gender equality in research roles: pre and post Covid-19”.
Then Þorgerður Einarsdóttir & Finnborg S. Steinþórsdóttir, University of Iceland, shared their findings on “Gender and neo-liberal reforms of employment in public universities: the case of Iceland”.
Many thanks to the presenters for their contributions and to University of Iceland for technically hosting the webinar.
