February 23rd, the GenBUDGET CoP had its second webinar on "Gender biases and gender budgeting in research organisations during Covid-19". The webinar is part of GenBUDGETs “Sharing our struggles” webinar series, that has the aim of enhancing the knowledge of gender biases in decision making at RPOs. An important step in the CoP’s mission is to develop shared gender budgeting practices to counteract gendered financial management mechanisms. We had three interesting and insightful presentations. First, we had a presentation from Eva Blázquez & Patricia Nieto, Carlos III University of Madrid, who discussed “Gender and Career Development in the Spanish Universities. Challenges and Opportunities”.
Then Peter Bjelskou, University of Southern Denmark, shared his findings on the “Gender Budgeting at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU): Challenges, Opportunities, and Recommendations (work in progress)”.
Finally, Sveinn Guðmundsson & Finnborg S. Steinþórsdóttir presented their findings on “Gender budgeting in the University of Iceland: examination of the gendered career progression of PhD holders”.
Many thanks to all the presenters for their contributions and to University of Iceland for technically hosting the webinar.
We hope to see you in our next webinar!
